The region

Ioannina is the capital of Epirus and the biggest commercial and administrative centre of North-western Greece. It is a traditional and historic city, that has many cultural monuments and all the modern comforts of a big city.

The Prefecture of Ioannina is the biggest in Epirus and is the one of the biggest Prefectures in Greece (4.900 sq. km land) with a population of aprox. 200.000 residents. The city of Ioannina is built at 450 metres above sea level and is 440 km from Athens, capital of Greece.

There are bus services routes that connect Ioannina with the major Greek cities. If you wish to come by air from Athens or Thessaloniki the local airport is located near the city. Igoumenitsa's port that is the main gate of entrance to Greece from Europe is 100 km from Ioannina.

The region of Epirus is mountainous: Mountain range of Pindos, Grammos mt., Smolikas mt., Tymfi mt., Peristeri mt., Tomaros mt., Athamanika mt., etc. are fully covered of snow during winter. Between those mountains are the famus ravines of Epirus (Vikos, Kalarytikos river ravine and more).

The area has beautiful and wild rivers: Aoos, Arachthos, Voidomatis, are full of beautiful stone-built old bridges. Most of those bridges of Epirus are built using stones, centuries ago by local craftsmen. These bridges are still resist the time. HOW TO GET IN OUR ACCOMMODATION

FROM ATHENS: Follow the National Road Ioannina - Athens with direction to Ioannina. After Egnatia hiway, turn left to Pedini village. In a distance of 1 km turn right to Ioannina University. Continue and in a distance of 1 km turn left and follow the street to find our accommodation.
FROM IOANNINA: Follow Dodonis avenue and turn right to Ioannina University. Pass the University of Ioannina and after 500 metres turn right to find the accommodation [see the map].
